The Gatherings is offering a pristine vintage fabric bolt of 1950's Barkcloth yardage. It is a Vat Dye manufactured by Delsey Fabrics, N.Y. Printers, Weavers of Decorative Fabrics. No date appears on the label but the style of the fabric suggest it is from the 1950's. Possibly late 1940's
A traditional with a flare of romanticism, that's the way I would describe the pattern of this vintage fabric. The large flowers are colors of rose and off white surrounded by a border of acanthus leaves in off white. All set on a darker green background.
The motif on either side repeats every 23" including the acanthus leaf border. (The width of the flora is 20" wide). The motif in the center of the fabric repeats every 20" with the width of the flora 11" wide.
Selvage to selvage the fabric measures 46-1/2" wide. The original bolt states it is 21 yards. It has not been taken off to measure so only guessing the amount of yardage - there is 16-1/2 yards so there is a fair amount for project or projects.
