Calling for duty? Here's a very neat late 1890's Victorian long apron, in a black print, on white shirting fabric. A bold addition to the apron is the black and white Greek Key border print at the hem and tip of the ties. A snippet of this fabric even trims the deep pocket on the one side.
An ample pocket that probably would have held a handkerchief to wipe a child's nose or dirty face. The apron is a larger size to amply cover the home maker's dress.
The waist band is 23" from one side to the other, not including the ties. Each tie measures 21-1/2" long. The length of the apron from the waist to the hem is 39" long.
The condition, except for a couple tiny holes, which would be common for the age, the apron is quite nice.
If you are a collector of aprons or wanting a special gift for someone, this would be an excellent example.
