An unbelievable nice offering of a Irish double damask linen tablecloth and eight matching napkins.  Dating from the 1920's, perhaps later, the Shamrock linens are in the Celtic pattern #7460.

The tablecloth is still in the original box, although napkins are not boxed (the box was probably discarded), even though, never used.  The tablecloth, as well as the napkins, still have the original labels, including "Made In Ireland, All Pure Linen" label.

A paper brochure, included withe the set, show the photo detail of the Celtic pattern.  Also inscribed on the brochure: "Our Celtic Pattern has been inspired by the world famous "Book of Kells" and with the addition of the Arms of the Four Provinces and other Emblems has produced a design in effect "Purely Irish.".

Some of the emblems that appear on the cloth, the harp, hand, crown, three castles, a ship (Viking?) and tower with wolfhound?  plus a Celtic influence of knots and other shapes. Centered in the middle of the cloth is the harp, surrounded with Irish 4-leaf covers.  This is a magnificent textile.

Size is of the tablecloth is 72" x 90".  The napkins measure 22" x 23".    Tablecloth has never been taken from the original wrapping .  Although looks clean, you may find some oxidation from storage.  Some oxidation on napkins.

A beautiful gift for someone Irish.... or just want to enjoy beautiful table linens.
