From a past time, a circa 1880's needle case in a book shape. The plush velvet covered cardboard case is embellished with a paper scrap of a hand holding a bouquet. A sweet poem is inscribed on the note.
The inside of book opens for storing needles, perhaps a thimble. Head of a Victorian lady is affixed to the inside cover. The other cover appears to also had a scrap attached, however, just a smidgen of paper is left. Back of needle book is plain plush fabric.
Condition: Certainly for the age, the book is good but shows use. There is normal wear to the plush fabric. At one time the case was a maroon but faded over time to a brown maroon The paper scrap of Victorian lady inside cover is bent. Missing paper scrap on inside back cover.
Size is 2-3/4" long x 2-1/8" wide x 1-1/8" in height.
