The colorful graphics of this vintage 1920's paper covered cardboard box are endearing. The empty box once held Mother Goose illustrated stationery for little folks.
Printed on the box cover is a child sleeping while Mother Goose sits on her red-checkered bed quilt. In the background a bear cub, lamb and fox slipping from the pages of the book, above the child's head.
Featured on each of the side panels are different animals. Bears, lamb, dog, cat, turtle, Mother Goose, fox, rabbit, duck, frog, goose and squirrel. Printed in U.S.A. but no company. The box, at one time contained 12 sheets and envelopes. Box bottom is plain white paper covered cardboard.
Size of the box is 6-3/8" long x 4-1/4" wide x 1" deep.
Condition of the box is not perfect, but very decent considering it was handled by a child. No broken corners. A small soil mark on the bottom of box. Possibly some soiling across the bottom part of lid. It is very even so you be the judge. Tiny bit of paper loss on the box lid at the corners. The side panel with the goose, frog and squirrel does have a small amount of paper loss on the white goose. It rather blends so not that noticeable.
A sweet box to add to a collection
