An impressive silk needle case from the 1920s, perhaps a bit earlier. The fold over case is made of a golden - orange silk fabric, padded and embellished with gold metallic lace trim. A row of ribbon rosette yardage accents either side of the wider metallic lace. The case is decorated the same on both front and back.
There are four cream wool leaves inside. Each "page" is "marked" for different types of needles. Such as Sharps, Sharps Between, Straw Embroidery Rug Chenille, Double Long Darning and Carpet Sharps. Most leaves have some needles. The first leaf also is marked "Made In England". Two snaps closes the fold over case.
Condition is good. Some tarnish to the gold metallic, which would be normal.
Size of the case closed is 3" wide x 4-1/2" long.
