Purchased from a Whittier estate, an interesting example of children's school photos from another time. The school photo is cut to fit the oval on the silk ribbon, with printing above and the children's names printed below. The ribbon reads Day School,District No. 4, Johns Twp. Appanoose Co., Iowa. The year 1925- 1926.
The children are standing around a pole. Possibly flagpole. From the count of names there were 27 children in the school.
Arlene and Norma Jennings were sisters attending the school and these are from Arlene's estate.
Something fun to pull at your heartstrings.
