A vintage Art Deco early 1930's, or possibly late 1920's, sheer darker blue chiffon day dress. A wonderful flowing style with draped ruffle tiered skirt coming to point at the front waist. A narrow attached belt, of the same fabric, fastens to the back with snaps.
Fitted dropped waist bodice with long sleeves, ending in a cuff of tan chiffon trimmed in narrow tulle lace. Snap at the cuff to fasten. The collar of the dress is asymmetrical with a long point at the one side of front. Decorative crochet balls accent the one side of the collar. The other side is more narrow following the scoop neck line.
Collar at the back dips to a point at center back. Fabric and trimming of the collar is the same as the cuffs. The draping of the back ruffle of skirt is as lovely as the design of the front, only it is full length to the hem line.
A fitted silk slip, in the same color of blue, is loose fitting except for being attached at the shoulder seams of the dress. See photo. Beautiful detailing of top seaming on the ruffles and finished hem line. No opening ~ dress slips over the head.
A fabulous dress style from the time period, alas, it does have a split of the chiffon on the front of one arm hole about 1-1/2" long. See photo. If this could be reinforced, I don't know. Other sleeve looks good. A few small age spots to the tan chiffon. Dress has not been cleaned but nice, except where noted.
Size measurements: 32" bust. 44" long from neck line to hem. 32" waist. 34" hip. Sleeve length 22" long.
