Many Victorian fashioned round discs, called pin keeps, to store straight pins for handy use on a dresser or sewing basket. The Gatherings is offering a pin keep, dating from the late 19th Century (about 1880-1890), covered in black velvet fabric. Painting of flora is done by hand on the one side.
Encircled around the edge, is both straight pins in steel, as well as pins with black glass heads The pin keep is original in good condition. Diameter of the keep is 2" in diameter.
