A magnificent three piece bed linen set from the late Victorian, Edwardian era. The pieces are embellished with Cluny lace trim. The set consisting of a pair of pillowcases, with ties, plus sheet return or bolster, which could be used either way.
This impressive set is unused and never laundered. More than likely home sewn by treadle machine Set is made from a nice quality cotton fabric, almost a sateen in feel.
The flat sheet return is edged with the lace on three sides. The top side is selvage. Width of the lace edging is 4" wide. Overall size of the return is 37" wide x 89" long. (it is shown laying on a king size bed to give you an idea of the length and look). The measurements include the 4" wide trim.
Size of the pillowcases are 36-1/2" long (includes the 4" wide lace) x 18-1/2" wide. Twill tape ties on the inside opening of each case to tie after pillow has been inserted.
Condition: As note set has never been used or laundered so the color of lace/sheeting is a creamy. There are a few spot marks from all the years of storage.
