1940's vintage tin lithograph American Can Company coin bank. This neat advertising bank features a jester sitting on a can on one side. Around the base of the can a lively group of elves gather an assortment of fruits and vegetables.
A garland of fruits and vegetables, tied with ribbon, garnishes the top edge. Logo appears on the side IF CANNED, IT'S FRESH, RICH IN VITAMINS.
On the opposite side NATIONAL CANNER ASS'N CANNED FOODS WEEK Slot on the top for accepting coins includes a printed message. A lid on the bottom with American Can Company printed on the surface.
I am sure some child loved to place a few treasurered coins in the slot, as noted by the few dents and scratch marks.
Actually the condition is reasonably good considering the handling of the bank. A couple dents on both the side and bottom of the lid. Scratch marks around the slot for receiving the coins. Certainly not mint but I consider fairly decent.
Size of the bank: 4" tall x 2-1/2" in diameter.
