Deaccession from a small Ohio museum, a lace pelerine collar. Dating from the Victorian era of 1860 to 1880's, the collar is a fold over style with a lace ruffle at either edge. Tambour embroidery is worked on tulle in a small flower motif. The edges of the lace is designed in a pointed scallop. Center of the collar is plain tulle netting with a stitched inset piece to fit the nape of the neck.
Length of the collar is 31" long, with the width at the center back measuring 11-1/2" wide, tapering to 4" at either end.
Condition: Clean. Good condition for the age, although you will find some small holes in the lace. Nothing major that would be glaring.
