A pair of opera glasses or binoculars for field hunting /bird watching, that a fashionable Victorian lady would have liked to have.  This pair, marked Chevalier, Paris on the lens, is embellished with a scenic touch of birds in branches. Made in a repousse of brass and metal.  The early 1900's glasses are in working order.

Size: 4" width at the one end, tapering to 3-3/4" wide at the other end.  Length closed is 2-3/4"long.  Extended is 3-1/2" long.

Condition of the glasses are good /decent, with just normal handling over the years.  A soft cleaning would remove some of the dust.

Made especially for storing the glasses is a hand made case of black silk taffeta.  Feather stitch embroidery, in blue, decorates the sides, center and closing flap. Snap on the flap to fasten.  A length of black faille ribbon is tied for carrying the case.  Inside has been padded and lined in a blue to match the embroidery thread.  A little bit of shredding on the inside flap, but still very good.  The case is 5-1/2" wide x 6"long.
