During the generations before, sewing and mending was a way of life. No homemaker would be without the proper tools for quick repairs either in the home, itself, or when traveling. Dating from the early 1900s the cheery cardboard box is decorated with a paper covering of a flora motif. Ah yes, and a padded lid to boot.
The sweet case above would be an excellent choice for quickly reaching for a needle and thread. The inside of the box features a compartment with pouch for storing assorted size needles. A spool of black thread is at hand for the sewing project. Label on the needle pouch indicate the kit is "Made In England".
The case appears not to have been used and is in very nice condition with just minor flaws to the corners of the box through years of storage with normal handling.
