I love this lovely hand made Irish Crochet baby bonnet dating from the Edwardian to 1920's time. The bonnet is lined in the palest of blue fabric. Just enough of a tint that gives just a hint of color under the ivory of the crochet work.
A highlight of the bonnet, in my opinion, is the work of the crown. It almost appears to be a smaller piece appliqued over the portion of the crown. It is also a bit thicker in this area, too. Regardless, it does give a pretty look. Bonnet at one time did have silk ribbon ties but are gone and would need to be replaced.
Condition is very nice. A few measurements: 15" along the face from side to side. 10" along the edge of the neck line.
Guessing it would fit a child about 8 months of age.
So perfect for photography work, I would think.
