A lovely antique hand made Battenburg tape and mixed lace collar from the Victorian or early Edwardian era. The collar consist of two pieces, a high neck in a narrow band plus a dress front of Battenburg with mixed lace inset.
An attractive collar, in a pleasing design, fitting over the shoulder area to just below the bust line. All white cotton in very clean condition.
Measurement: The dress front is 11-3/4" long center front,from the neck line to bottom edge. It is 16" along the neck line, from side to side. Widest width, at center front, is 10-1/2" wide. Width of the design over the shoulders is 4" wide.
The narrow high neck piece is 14" long from side to side and is 1-1/2" wide.
Condition: A couple of missing stitches on the teardrop shaped piece at the center front. A minor easy fix with thread and needle.
