A lady's sweet summer nightgown from the late teens, early 1920's. Made of batiste white cotton fabric, the gown is monogrammed with letter A, Scallops and lace edge the scoop neckline and armholes. Embroidery work of small flowers accents the front, as well as the back of the neckline.
A 6" wide ruffle at the hem is embellished with 6 pin tuck rows, Narrow hemstitching also separates the ruffle from the skirt. The same lace, which accents the neckline and sleeve opening, is used to finish the hem. A narrow pink silk ribbon is laced through the neck line to give an extra touch.
Size measurements: 40" from the shoulder to the hem. 14" from shoulder to shoulder. 34" around the bust.
Condition: freshly laundered and pressed. Although very nice, there is a fray to fabric, on the back at side seam, above the ruffle. Possibly has gotten caught some time or another as the rest of the fabric is very nice. Handy with thread and needle? It could easily be mended.
