Just in time for summer! A vintage 1930's natural straw hat in a very pleasing woven straw. Shape of the brim is turned up. What is there not to love about this hat.....even the decorations of tiny flocked flowers, green paper leaves. and best of all, the sweet straw shaped pine cones, make it a "must have". (Be sure to look at the photos of the little pine cones). A narrow forest green velvet ribbon trims the edge of the brim. Originally, the same color of green veiling covered the crown, and at least, part of the brim. Being of a fragile nature, much of the veiling is gone. Still attached to a piece of the veiling, is the same narrow green ribbon. It has two long streamers, so somehow , the ribbon was used as an embellishment Except for the condition of the veiling, the hat is very nice.
Love the style of the hat. Did you notice how the brim "wings" out on the one side more than the other? A Buffalo, N.Y. label. Size tag 22, Measurement is 22" around the inside of brim. Depth of brim is 2" wide to 2-1/2" wide, at the winged area. Brim narrows 1/2"at the back. 3-1/2" tall crown.
Again, condition is nice, except for the veiling. With some slight restoring this would be an amazingly fun vintage hat.
