This gorgeous piece of lace is quite lovely, featuring cutwork embroidery mixed with needlelace in a beautiful array of rather bold motifs, in yet, an open design. Dates from the late Victorian into the Edwardian era.
From the middle of the solid fabric, at the center, either side features the same design to the scallop edge.
It is a long runner measures 82" in length x 31" wide. Even though the workmanship is extensive, I'm not sure the purpose. More than likely, it was used as a shawl or wrap. Possibly though on a bed as a bolster or as a runner on a very long table. Perhaps even some type of curtain panel.
Whatever your fancy, this would be an outstanding piece for wear or display.
Condition: Very nice although a few tiny pulls. Nothing serious. It has not been recently been laundered, however, again, quite presentable.
