Another offering of an 1880's child's dress which fits perfect in a primitive decor. Made in a brown and cream check cotton fabric, it has long sleeve, round neck line, and buttons down the back to just about the double ruffle at the hem.
A wider calico trim is sewn to resemble a yoke, trims the sleeve area and accents the ruffle. Dress is lined in a tan fabric, except for the ruffle area. It is treadle machine sewn.
Lovingly worn, it does have a larger mended area at the front of the dress and a tear in the front ruffle. The fabric also shows weakness, as noted from the photos. You will find small "dot" holes through out, showing through to the lining fabric. It is the lining that helped stabilize the brown fabric over the years. It is also faded over the years, too.
Still, if you love primitive, the dress is a country charmer.
Size / measurements: 22" long from the neck line to the hem. 11" across from shoulder to shoulder. 24" around the chest. Sleeve length is 11" long.
