A green and white hand quilted Depression era quilt in a basket pattern. This attractive quilt consist of 42 baskets set on white blocks, in a diamond shape. Alternating, a white quilted block in a stylized flower pattern. The quilt features a 3-1/2" white quilted border, finished with green bias tape (turned and hand stitched) to a scallop design. All hand quilted. A lovely quilt for a cottage garden look.
Overall size of the quilt is 77" wide x 83-1/2" long. Each of the green baskets are 8" high x 7-3/4" wide, which is a nice scale. It is a summer weight quilt.
Not recently laundered so there are some marks of oxidation. Mostly on the white backing, in one area. Front, has just a dot here or there. As most everyone handling quilts, like to do their own washing, with their own methods, the laundering will be up to the buyer. Truthfully, the appearance of the quilt looks clean.
Flaws: except for the spots of oxidation, I found several areas on the back of the quilt with tiny holes. Just a few together in about three areas. (see photos) About the size of a pin head. Looking at the front, I only found a couple. However, I may have missed more but don't think so.
