Here's a wonderful large size vintage quilt top in the Dresden Plate pattern. The top is sash with solid pink borders, each border is 3" wide. A nice variety of printed fabrics , some possibly could be flour /feed sacking. Many of the fabrics appear to be from the 1930's or early 1940's. So I would date the quilt no later than the early 1940's. Pleasing soft colors with print fabrics in very nice condition.
Each of the 20 printed fabric motifs are machine stitched appliqued to muslin blocks. The size of each Dresden Plate is 14" in diameter. Each muslin block is 16-1/2" square.
Overall size of the quilt top is 81-1/2" wide x 103" long. So would finish into a nice size quilt and how gorgeous this would be quilted.
The quilt top has been stored for over 70 years and over that time period a small amount of damage has occurred. As you note from the the couple photos, it appears it was subjected to, what I believe, some water staining of the pink outer border. This is in about three areas, I have not tried to clean. One small spot on one of the block , which is not that obvious.
I will leave the cleaning to the buyer. Most quilt makers, I find, have their own cleaning methods that they would prefer to use.
