For those that love antique and vintage lace, here's an instruction booklet of modern lace making by Frances Howland.  Published by The Vickery & Hill Co., Augusta, Maine. Sixth Edition.  Although no date, more than likely late Victorian era.

This wonderful 31 page booklet details the making of tape lace with instructions for patterns and filling stitches.  Instructions also include the type of braids required.  Some of the instructions included are for bolero jacket/collar, collars, cuffs or tie end, handkerchief, doilies and table coverings.

The booklet is paper with no covers.  Yellowing with age and some minor damage from normal handling.   Size is 6" x 9".

A great reference booklet...especially from a historical perspective.
