A lovely Edwardian trousseau nightgown and matching bloomers / pantaloons. Made of a white batiste cotton, lavished with mixed lace insets and ruffles, the gown is gathered with a cream silk ribbon at the neck line.
The beautiful sleeves are made in a bell shape with deep insets of lace and wide ruffle edging. Detail of the armhole and shoulder seam are separated with a row of hemstitching. The gown is made with three seams allowing it to flare slightly, falling into soft folds.
The pantaloons / bloomers are split legs with a partial drawstring at the back of waist to tie. The pantaloons, too, are lavished with the same mixed lace, deep insets and wide ruffles at the edge of leg opening. Cream silk ribbon bows on each leg as accents.
Gown: 56-1/2" long from the neck line to hem line. 36" bust. 13" sleeve length.
Pantaloons: 23" long from the waist to hem. 26' waist the the max width. Would adjust smaller with the drawstring.
Gown does have a couple of small mends and one larger one at the hem line (see photo). A few tiny holes in the fabric and lace. No more than would be expected for the age. Very clean. No stains. One small mend on leg of pantaloons but all over condition is very nice. You may find a tiny hole or two but I didn't see any.
This lovey early 1900's set would not be a disappointment.
