A delightful millinery hat from the Edwardian time to 1920's time period. Made of a natural straw with deep crown and a shaped brim, the hat is decorated with a wide silk velvet ribbon in a rose color.
The ribbon is looped over at one side, then tied at the edge of the brim in a bow. Part of the bow is tucked over the edge on the underside of the brim. A single rose with rayon petals of light pink and plush velvet petals in the rose color, accent the ribbon bow. Underside of the brim and inside of crown are lined.
The fabric on the underside of the brim is a shade to compliment the ribbon and flower embellishments. The crown is lined in a cream fabric. Maker is Regina Hat. Also a shield marking with text but not clear enough to read.
Condition of the straw, ribbon and flower are very nice. No breaks to the straw that I found. The rayon lining of the brim shows a tiny bit of wear but very minor. The lining of the crown does have some shreds.
Measurements: Width across the hat from one side to the other, is 15-1/2" wide. Width across from front to back is 12" wide. (The shape of the brim at the back is very narrow, almost none existing). Depth of the crown is 4-1/2" deep. Circumference inside the crown at the brim is 22" around.
A lovely treasure from a time past.
