Now, how can you resist this sweet fabric embroidered pincushion, in the shape of a woman's head. With her pouty Betty Boop lips, this charmer is from the 1930's. Her brimmed cloche hat is pulled down upon her head, just to the point of revealing her blue eyes and curls around her face.
The pincushion was a purchased tinted pattern, which was embroidered and sewed together. The brim of the hat is felt, her curls are made of mohair and face and hat are padded. Backing is some type of heavy cardboard.
Length of the pincushion is 7-1/2" long x 6" wide , at the widest point.
Condition: The seam at the top of the hat connecting to the cardboard has pulled away partially. It has been restitched as you notice from the photos. Some loss of color to the felt brim over time. Some spotting to the backing. Still a very unusual pincushion and testament to the fashion look of the time.
