From the later Victorian era, 1880's, a small doily, in society silk embroidery on pink taffeta. This is one of those finely executed needlework doilies than can only be expressed by the word "incredible".
The doily is made of pink taffeta shaped in a 6-1/2" square. A delicate hand fringe edges this stunning beauty. The gorgeous silk society rose is embroidered in the center. The softest color of cream and tan thread are used to form the rose petals, leaves and gossermer fern. A narrow border of drawnwork further embellishes this creation.
Condition is good but does show a tiny bit of soiling and three tiny pin dot holes in the cloth.
