A lovely creation from the vintage 1920's era. A pink satin lingerie bed bonnet is embellished with hand crochet work and rick rack. Six daisy rosettes of white pleated rick rack are joined with pink crochet thread, each to make a circle.
The "flower center" is created with crochet thread to form a ball. The daisies are then joined at the front and side edge of the bonnet. So adorable!! The crown opening of the bonnet is also of crochet in an open pattern.
Another daisy rosette flower completes the crown. The back edging is a simple crochet pattern joined on either side with a narrow yellow ribbon bow. Completely hand made.
I doubt if the bonnet has ever been worn. More than likely received as a gift then stored away.
Size: 22" around the circumference of the bonnet. Height to the crown is 8".
Condition: Although lovely, I found a small tear to the satin near one of the daisies about 3/8" long. Even though the tear is not completely pulled apart, it is there. Some yellowing to the rick rack.
Wonderful ribbon work for display or study.
