A beautiful art glass inkwell, which I believe to be Loetz, from the early 1900's to 1920's era. The inkwell has a brass fitting lid and a clear glass insert. Possibly in the Mimosa pattern, dark cobalt color, in iridescent shimmery glass. No markings.
Size is 4-1/4" square , on the outside corners. Diameter across the top is 4-1/2". Base is 3-3/4" across. Height, at outside corners, is 2-1/" tall. Clear insert is 1-1/2" tall x 1-3/8" diameter. across the top edge.
Quite lovely but does have a hidden flaw, Unfortunately a chunk of glass missing on the lip of inkwell, hidden under the brass lid. Evidence also of plaster of paris remains, that once secured the lid. The bottom edge of the brass lid is slightly out of round.
Possibly a hairline crack at the rim of the insert. See photo.
With most of the flaws hidden, it is still a very nice display piece.
