A beautiful estate find from a local family. The Gatherings is pleased to offer this knotted darn net lace. Dates from the early part of the 1900's - 1920's Chinese influence, It looks to be hand made but may be machine made. Color is an ecru or ivory.

This  lace is 2 yards 15" long x 4-12" wide.  A bold pattern, as you note from the photos.

The size of the center circular motifs are 3" diameter, to give you an idea of the scale. Straight edges at the top, with the bottom edge a stepped design.   Thread appears to be cotton.

It appears unused, however, there are two damaged spots  at the top edge.  (see photos).  It looks to me, with a needle and thread, the thread of the design could be caught and mended,  Each area is about 1/2" long x 1/4" deep.
