From the early part of the last century, a sweet embroidered redwork quilt. This turkey red child's quilt features children, animals, birds, flowers and animated objects, in 28 quilt squares. Blocks in between are quilted in a flower motif, white on white.
In each of the four corners, a steaming teapot, little boy blowing a bubble, dressed rabbit eating and a bunny wearing a bib. Just as cute as can be. Border of the quilt is quilted in a diamond pattern, as is the background of each of the redwork blocks.
Quilt dates from the early 1900's to 1920's.
The quilt is used and enjoyed but still good. 2 small snag holes, which are not obvious. Some of the embroidery threads of the cat are broken and gone. A faint amount of yellowing from storage and as you notice, in one area, three (looks like) red dye marks.
Size of this charmer is 73" wide x 82" wide.
