Dating from the late 19th century or very early 1900's. A little bit soiled, a little bit worn, describes this pair of children britches or pants. Home sewn in blue and white check homespun, with a waistband of blue with white stripes, you will find this pair endearing.
There are button holes on either side and both ends of the waistband which would have fastened to a shirt.
Measurements: Waist is 16-1/2" around. Length from the waist to hem 11-1/4" long. Center seam to the crotch: 7-1/2" long.
Condition: some oxidation with overall fading from laundering. Torn and ragged edge at one of the side openings. A little fraying of the fabric at the crotch seam.
Neat pair to hang in a primitive country collection, dress a cloth doll or teddy bear.
