In olden days here was a clever way of storing table linens after they were washed and iron to be kept fresh until ready to be used. The Gatherings is offering this cute TABLECLOTH and NAPKIN keepers holders from the 1930's (perhaps a bit earlier or later). The cloths and napkins would be placed in the case and then stored.
The matched set is made of muslin fabric trimmed in light blue bias tape. A handled wicker basket filled with pretty flowers is embroidered on each piece. To store the linens, the cases open completely flat. After the table linens have been placed, the flaps are folded over to hold in place.
The set has been used and not recently laundered. Still very nice with only minimal oxidation from storage. Size of tablecloth holder(closed) is 19" long x 12-1/2" wide. Napkin holder is 9" long x 8-1/2" wide (closed).
So cute for a vintage kitchen!
