Now here's a temping woman's bodice from an era past! Wonderful for display or historical research.
Dating from the late Victorian era, probably 1890's, the piegon stye bodice is made of a beautiful black silk satin fabric.
Talk about WOW factor, let me draw your attention to rows and rows of tucks sewn on both the front and center back of the bodice. The sewing is quite striking. Bodice buttons down the front in a hidden placket. I should also mention, there is a sateen lining or undergarment that also buttons from neck line to waist. The shallow collar is edged inside with a black lace ruffle, which does show damage. Sleeves are long with turned up cuff.
Measurement: 21" long from neck line to the hem at the front. Center back is 19-1/2" long. Bust is 32". Measurement across from shoulder to shoulder is 13". Sleeve length is 24" long. Cuff is 8" around. I would consider a small size. More for display than wearing.
Condition: Except for damage of the lace at the collar the garment is very nice condition. No buttons missing.
