What a beautiful piece of satin fabric so suitable for doll costuming. The fabric dates from the Edwardian, 1920's era. Possibly as early as the late Victorian period. It is still rolled on the original cardboard tube, never being removed until I unrolled to measure plus assessment of the yardage.
It is a silk satin with a cotton backing, measuring 12 yards 16" in length (plus a little more at no charge) x 21" wide selvage to selvage. A gorgeous color of pink. However, it does have flaws so my price is reflective of the flaw. From storage, it has a faint staining, at one edge, at the selvage. It is fairly regular throughout the whole length of the yardage, measuring 2-3" to as much as 4" from the edge into the fabric. Front side only, nothing on the back. Whether this would clean I don't know or would just need to be worked around. Otherwise the fabric is strong.
It is a gorgeous piece of yardage suitable for doll clothing. Or for other small sewing projects that could work around the flawed areas.
I will ship it on the roll/ tube, which weighs 2 lbs. However, I would be more than willing to take it off the roll to ship, which would be less cost, especially Internationally. So if you are interested in purchasing, contact me for a better shipping rate without the roll. I am happy to assist.
