Dating from the 1920's, an unused, still with paper label, damask cotton tablecloth. A wonderful all over grape and leaves tendrils motif, gives this cloth a thumbs up. Hem stitched border edging. It is a Halifax Damask Cloth made by the Halifax Cotton Mills, Inc., South Boston, VA.
Size is 58" x 72" As it has a F. W. Woolworth Co., price tag, more than likely made especially for Woolworths.
Some oxidation from storage over the years plus a small deeper spot near the price tag. Also, near the price tag, a small chaffing of the fabric. A couple of broken threads in the weave. (I feel no harm). This, too, came from years of storage from the way it has been folded.
