From the 1920's boudoir, this natural straw fan just spells sweetness. The fan is hand decorated with ribbon, flowers, delicate lace and organdy. I am sure it took patience to make.  The rosette cluster, made in a rainbow of colors in soft shades of pink, blue, yellow, purple, lavender embellishes the center of the fan.

Each flower is made from organdy fabric, using different fabric weights (some more sheer than others) and a few with a tiny scallop design.  There are about 19 flowers which form the rosette cluster.  The flowers are situated on organdy gathered in a pointed fashion.  It is then centered on a piece of delicate lace gathered to outline the shape of the fan.  All are hand stitched to the straw in such little incredible stitches it is hard to detect.

The handle of the fan is wrapped in a blue rayon faille ribbon with a picot edge.  The ribbon forms a large bow at the top of the handle and a loop of ribbon at the bottom for wearing about the wrist.

This is so dazzling.  The size of the fan is 13-1/2" long from the tip of the handle to the point of the fan.  Width at the widest point is 10" wide.
