Dress a small child in vintage rompers or play togs from the later 1930's or early 1940's era. The play suit is home sewn of white muslin feed sacking fabric. Hand embroidered in a blanket stitch around the yoke collar area, at the edge of the arm holes and partial down the front.
The blanket stitching curves to form two fake pockets on the front. Peeking above the pockets delightful embroidered bunny rabbits. Just ready to play. One snap fastens the slash opening at the back of neck line. Three snaps also closes the crotch area of the play suit.
Possibly the play suit has never been worn, or only slightly worn. Even so, a small amount of oxidation from storage appears on the white muslin, both front and back. Soaking and laundering would take out these stains. Otherwise, nice.
Measurements: 19" long from the neck line to hem. 15-1/2" long from center back to crotch. 8-1/4" across from shoulder to shoulder. 23-1/2" around the chest.
Charming for vintage photography, doll or bear costuming or even gift giving.
