Child's vintage 1930's cotton 2-piece pajamas made in an Oriental influence, in a soft yellow with chocolate brown trimming. The mandarin top or jacket is hand embroidered and appliqued with Asian children jumping rope. The applique appears on either side of the front opening. Brown frog closures fasten the front of the top. The threads of the frog at the neck needs to be reattached to the one side. I didn't notice until after taking the photo but I will stitch the frog in place The two patch pockets on either side of the front opening is edged with the brown trim, as is the edge of arm holes, neck line, front opening, and hem of the top. Also the hem of the pant legs is trimmed in brown. The pants has elastic in the waist, which has lost it stretch. This would need to be replaced if worn.
The pajamas would fit a child about 7 years of age. It does have a size tag of 24 on the inside.
Measurement: Length of the top is 17" long from neck line to hem of top. 16" across from shoulder to shoulder. 24" around the chest. 22" around the waist. Pants: Length of pants from waist to hem is 24" long. 30" around the waist with no stretch to the elastic. 10" to center of the crotch from the waist.
Laundered and pressed. A tiny bit of oxidation that didn't come out in laundry still shows. May launder out the second time. All very minor. Condition is very nice.
Just so darn cute.
