A gift of chocolates are also special to receive. Here's a mid century - 1950's, or possibly early 1960's, Schrafft's cardboard candy box. The decorated box lid is made of a shiny marblized foil paper on the sides.
Top of lid is in a padded foil paper in a sponge design. A large sheer and plush fabric flower, in pink tones, gives this 1-3/4 lbs box an extra romantic touch. Inside and bottom sides are of white card. Extended cardboard bottom is a gold foil. The box still has the fancy doily liners on the inside. Although slightly yellowed with age, they are in good condition.
Size of the box is 7-7/8" wide x 9-3/8" long x 1-7/8" tall.
Condition: Although decent, it does have flaws. Corners and edges of the box does show some slight wear. A split on one side edge corner and a larger split on another. (lid of box). Bottom corner of box shows a weakness and ripple of paper on one corner. A slight break on another edge. (see photos).
A few keepsakes from past gifts were also found (and included) in the box. The items date from the 1920's and 30's. Two lovely embossed "For Mother" gift cards, A To Mother Remembrance greeting card with a lovely sentiment. Two colorful Artstyle foil candy wrappers. Plus a pink fabric carnation flower stem.
