Dating from mid century, 1950's, a colorful oval sewing box. So perfect for a shabby or romantic look. Made of a heavy stiff cardboard the box is covered in a floral paper very similar to wallpaper. A lovely paper of flowers including roses, on a light colored background.
The very edge of the lid and top edge of the box, itself, is trimmed in a narrow plastic which protects the paper covering. Inside of the lid, box and bottom of box are finished in a wood grain look. A green fabric cloth, containing three pockets, are sewn inside on just one side. Various sewing tools, thread etc. could be stored in the compartments. The handles for carrying the case are a rope braid.
Size of the box is 7-1/4" tall x x 10-3/4" long x 7-5/8" wide
Considering the box is paper, cardboard and had some usage, it is nice. I did notice three small water marks on the front. Not very obvious as they blend very well with the background paper. At the bottom of box, another line of discoloration but certainly is not distracting. Box is clean on the inside.
Nice for a sewing room or perfect for storage.
