Here's a distinctive vintage fashion accessory, the Lucite purse, from the 1950's. This mid-century fashion treat features a swing handle in clear carving. Also, the top portion of the purse is carved in rather a leaf decoration.
The sides of the purse are a white marbleized design. Bottom is plain white Lucite. Handle connect with metal brackets to the purse. Metal ball clasp. Tiny white bun feet on the bottom. Good working hinge and clear plastic side wall on the inside when opened.
Size of the purse is 5-1/4" from top to bottom. Add the handle (handle extended is 4-1/2" tall) overall height would be 9-3/4" tall. Width is 8" long. Depth is 3" wide.
Condition: Some yellowing to the marbleizing surface....probably from the glue. When I push on the marbled Lucite on bottom corner of purse it gives a bit. Possibly from drying of the glue. It seems to be no harm. It does have one sliver of plastic missing on one of the side edges. (see photo) About 1/4" wide x 3/4"long. This not really noticeable but there. Inside is clean.
