A stunning 1930's floor length evening, formal, party or wedding dress. This gorgeous dress is bound to turn heads. Made of Charmeuse liquid satin fabric, in a shade of ivory, that is lustrous to look at, as well as to feel.
The skirt is made of six panels, letting this wondrous fabric gently flow to the floor. There the fabric softly lays in puddles The bodice is a simple but elegant style with a double set of shoulder straps. The wider straps lace through the center front forming a decorative V, which boldly connects to a dramatic "bow" made of set rhinestones, outlines in elongated black beads. Spectacular!
The same theme beads and rhinestones outline the remaining top of dress, both front and back. Another dramatic feature to this outstanding dress is the waist line. It is gently gathered up to a point at the center waist line, then drops 3" below at the sides. The back waist line flows in a soft scallop design.
The fabric of the bodice is sewn over the top fabric of the skirt to form a narrow piping. Side metal zipper in working order. Straps are sewn to the dress, so dress would slip over the head. This dress speaks of quality workmanship.
No size tag so here are the measurements: Bust is 32" Waist 24". Natural hip line would be about 28" - 30" Length of dress from the middle of the shoulder strap to hem is 57" long.
Condition: It is just as found, meaning it has not been cleaned. Considering though, very little soil, especially for the age, but some. Beadwork and rhinestone are intact, unless I missed something not obvious. No underarm stains. On the bodice (see photo), just pass the upper part of the dart line, I believe a slight fray to fabric. I found a few threads on the inside of the fabric at this point. I can see no other reason for them to be there.
This amazing dress would not be a disappointment.
