Five silk on silk embroidery table doilies from the mid Victorian to 1880's time period. These doilies are certainly a study in fine workmanship with tiny silk stitches executed on the silk fabric.
I think, as I, you will find it amazing when examining these little squares. A row of drawn thread forms the border of each doily. The colors of the threads on four are very nice with one more faded. Possibly the one was exposed more to the light.
Size is 4-7/8" square. Condition good, except the colors of one more faded.
