The label attached to this lovely piece of handmade bobbin pillow lace gives much significance to the lace as it bears the printed tag Mrs. Armstrong's Lace Makers, Olney, Buck, England. Reading the story of Mrs. Armstrong's Lace Makers, gives a historical perspective of the agency set up in 1906 to help village lacemakers. It is well worth reading if you wish to learn more. However, without the tag the ability to recognize this past history may likely been lost.
The bobbin lace is 20" long x 2" wide. From the photo it looks to be a round piece. It is not and does have two ends. Lace never used with cardboard tag still attached. Some damage to the cardboard. Probably made sometime around 1920's
