A beautiful fancy handmade cutwork cape for a young child. This gorgeous garment dates from the late Victorian era. The white fabric seems to be of a very fine linen or possibly a fine muslin. Hand stitched shirring on the back of the collar to gather the plain fabric.
Length of the collar is 8-3/4". Just the lace work, itself, measures 4-3/4" wide. The length along the neckline from side to the other side is 14-1/4" along the neckline. Length along the bottom edge of the collar is 32".
A perfect to dress up a plain little coat, jacket or dress. Condition is nice although some slight yellowing from storage. I did find two threads broken in the bridge work but these could be easily repaired.
