A useful sewing tool in the Victorian home was the pincushion. It was a handy gadget to store and dispense pins and needle. There were many shapes and sizes, however, the strawberry was an ever popular shape.
The Gatherings is offering a strawberry cushion made of red wool, trimmed in green velvet and accented with beadwork.
This sand filled pincushion measures 2-3/4" long from top to bottom. Circumference at the top is 5-1/4" around. As the cushion has been used, with the loss of some of the beads over the years, it still is a wonderful old specimen.
Enjoy in a sewing collection or country primitive home setting.
