February 14th is Valentine's Day.  So to celebrate, The Gatherings Antique Vintage thought we would share this wonderful textile from the past. 

Dating from the early 1900's, it is a silk thread embroidery pillow cover, with motto "An Affair Of The Heart". Surrounding the heart are purple violets.  An ever popular flower.   Embroidery is worked on a cotton fabric of a natural or cream color.. Size of the cover is 17-1/2" wide x 18-1/2". Cover has been used but very nice condition. So, indeed, a wonderful society silk embroidery.
