Greeting and happy Easter from The Gatherings Antique Vintage.
I have always had a love of rabbits since a young girl. even having my own pet bunny to care for. Even yet, at a younger age, I loved having a storybook read to me, titled Bunny Blue. Yes, it truly was the beginning to adore these creatures. So over the years, I would seek rabbits in different materials.
It seemed though what caught my eye the most was the candy containers in various forms.
A display of my paper mache eggs with lithographed rabbit or rabbits on the lids.
For me this rabbit a prize, including a wonderful memory of attending an auction in a small town in northwest Ohio many years ago with my sister. This large fabric covered rabbit came up for bid and just had to have it. That same day I bought a beautiful china doll. The two toys are still inseparable. I would like to think the previous owner would be quite pleased the two playmates remain together.
I have run out of room to keep all of the mache eggs so this one is for sale. I love the graphics of Mr. Rabbit painting the eggs while a small child looks on with wonderment.
You can view the above egg here.
