Here is a true piece of Americana. This historical apron is from the 1890
, printed in red, white and blue with stars fabric. The apron was manufactured by Dunnel Mfg Co., for distribution at the Cotton Centenary of 1890, in Pawtucket, R.I. These aprons were made to commemorates the 100th anniversary, (1790-1890), of Samuel Slater's cotton spinning machinery, at old Slater Mill. The fabric of the apron features a print of Old Slater Mill and of Mr. Samuel Slater. Flags and stars are also printed on the fabric. Condition of this apron is very good..a few tiny pinholes but no major stains or damage. The apron is made with short tabs, which pinned in the back for fastening at the waist. Length of the apron is 35" long.
Apron is a rare find.
